Accelerated healing and profound self-discovery
At Alethia, people often come to us saying
"I've tried everything, but nothing has helped."
In your search for clarity, purpose and peace in your life, you've tried everything.
You are looking for something that will help you make a deep, lasting impact on your mental wellbeing. Perhaps you've felt the limitations of conventional medicine and are looking relief beyond what traditional talk therapy can provide.
We get it.
At Alethia, we are dedicated to finding better ways to support people and the challenges they face. Psilocybin therapy, a form of psychedelic assisted therapy, offers the potential for profound self discovery and transformational healing.
Potential Benefits of Psychedelic Assisted Therapy:
Deep Exploration
Psychedelics induce altered states of consciousness, allowing individuals to explore aspects of their psyche and emotions that may be challenging to access through traditional therapy alone. These altered states can offer a fresh perspective on life, relationships, and one's own identity.
Neural Plasticity
Psychedelics have shown potential benefits on neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to adapt and reorganize. Research suggests psilocybin may promote increased synaptic plasticity and the formation of new neural connections, fostering a more flexible and adaptive brain structure. These effects could contribute to enhanced learning, emotional resilience, and potentially play a role in the treatment of mental health disorders.
Holistic Healing
Psychedelic therapy often emphasizes a holistic approach, considering not just the symptoms but also the underlying causes of mental health challenges. This can lead to comprehensive and enduring healing.
Inner Healing Intelligence:
One of the key attractions of psychedelic therapy is its ability to tap into the individual's inner healing intelligence. This internal guide can catalyze profound and lasting changes, providing insights and perspectives that might not be readily available in ordinary states of consciousness.
Spiritual Experiences
Psychedelics have been known to facilitate spiritual or mystical experiences. For individuals seeking a deeper connection to their spirituality or a sense of the transcendent, psychedelic-assisted therapy can offer a unique avenue for exploration.
Research and Evidence-Based Approaches
Ongoing research is providing increasing evidence for the efficacy and safety of psychedelic-assisted therapy. This growing body of knowledge contributes to the credibility and acceptance of this therapeutic approach.

Why Alethia Psychedelic Assisted Therapy?
Meet our Team
Alethia Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy
-
What are psychedelics? And which ones do you use?The word “psychedelic” comes from Greek words meaning “mind manifesting” or “mind revealing.” It’s an umbrella term used to describe a variety of substances, some synthetic and others naturally occurring. Currently we are using psilocybin ("magic mushrooms") for our Psychedelic- Assisted Therapy.
-
What do psychedelics do?Like many psychoactive substances, psychedelics affect a person’s senses, thinking, and mood. They can induce a range of psychological effects, which can be quite potent depending on the substance and the dose. What sets psychedelics apart from other substances is that they can produce what is often referred to as “non-ordinary” or “altered” states of consciousness. Research into psychedelics as emerging treatments in medicine is ongoing. There have been promising results for psilocybin on reducing end of life distress, as well as depressive disorders and some substance use disorders.
-
Is this legal? While psychedelics are illegal in Ontario, some people are eligible to request that Health Canada grant them access to psilocybin for therapeutic purposes. Working with Alethia, we help facilitate this application if you are eligible.
-
What’s the cost? And do my benefits cover it?At a glance, here is a breakdown of the costs associated with psychedelic-assisted therapy: Initial consultation $200 SAP Application $400 Preparation Sessions $200 per session Medicine day $2400 (6-8 hours with two guides) Integration Sessions $200 per session For more detailed information, please see Our Process. If you have benefit coverage that includes Registered Social Workers (RSW) your plan may cover some of the costs of your treatment.
-
What ages do you work with?We work with eligible adults 18+ years of age.
-
Do I need a referral from my doctor? While we encourage you to share with your doctor that you are considering psychedelic assisted therapy, you do not require a referral from your doctor. Our team of doctors will help facilitate your application to Health Canada’s Special Access Program (SAP).
